Your Hydroponics Garden: Beat the Summer Heat

Summer is fun, carefree, and exciting. The days feel longer, which allows for more time to devote to your hydroponics garden. But, summer is also scorching, which for any grower means too much heat. Even if your garden is indoors, too much heat can put your plants at risk and turn your summer relaxation into summer headaches!

Your hydroponics plants need air temperatures around 74F, while the their roots need a root zone of 68F. This is easy during the winter, but as summer temperatures rise, your indoor air temperature are also going up. In order to keep your plants thriving, it’s essential to invest in air conditioning, light cooling kits, chillers and other hydroponics technology. Control your atmosphere with our great products.

Another summer concern, is air circulation. Plants need proper air supply to stay healthy. One of my favorite solutions is an oscillating fan, which can be easily mounted on a wall and use their blades to disperse great, cooling air. Browse our fans.

Finally, one of the more pesky parts of summer is the “insect boom”.  Summer is their breeding time and feeding on plants is how they survive. Make sure you invest in the proper pest control products to keep these hungry pests away. See all our our pest control products.

Summer can be a great time to grow, just make sure you take the precautions to make sure your summer garden thrives!
